Madonna's manager Guy Oseary has been quite talkative on his Twitter page today, answering many questions about the Queen of Pop's upcoming projects and releases.
Several questions focused on Madonna's classic tours to be released on DVD and Blu Ray, and here's what Guy had to say:
"i had a meeting with warner records last week to discuss the dvd's.. its a start.."
"I would like it as well.. i had my first meeting with warner records about it.. this will take time.. no promises.. we shall see."
" I never said no to releasing the dvds. I only said there were no plans for it.. I met with warner this last week to discuss it.."
"there are NO plans. We had our first meeting about dvd's, with the intention of making it happen, but this will take some time."
Another major topic was a Summer Tour this year:
"not this summer... we have to make an album first.. and as i said before, this will happen soon as she's done with the movie.."
"not this summer... need to make an album first!"
And of course some hints about Madonna's new album and collaborators:
"yes! soon as the movie is over... she is currently listening to new music.. and is very eager to make a new album!!!"
"most of the music madonna is liking for new album are from all unknown producers. from what she played me, the tracks sound amazing"
" I've always wanted to a madonna unplugged, the new album will be quite the opposite of unplugged. I have one word for you: DANCE"
"as i said, so far all the tracks being considered are from unknown producers.. but we are open to all and any great ideas.."
With a little info about the release of "W.E" as well:
"no information on movie release yet.. when we know, we will definitely tell everyone.."

Live Nation chairman on Madonna’s New Album/Tour

Posted by Sylar On Monday, February 14, 2011 6 comments

It looks like Madonna is preparing to enter the studio to record a new album, the first under her $100 million multi-rights deal with Live Nation, which another lucrative tour seems likely as well.

“They tell me Madonna is about to record, so there could be another Madonna cycle coming,” Live Nation Entertainment Chairman Irving Azoff told Billboard.biz during an interview earlier this week. Asked if the Madonna album would come through Live Nation, Azoff responded, “Yes,” meaning Madonna’s album could be the first recorded content overseen by Live Nation. The Zac Brown Band’s LP “The Foundation” was initially geared to be a Live Nation project in 2008, but the company folded its label division with the exit of then-chairman Michael Cohl and the record ended up on Atlantic.

Azoff’s news was echoed by Madonna manager Guy Oseary this week via Twitter: “The update is that Madonna can’t wait to get into the recording studio. This will happen as soon as she finishes the movie she directed.”

Live Nation signed a 10-year multi-rights deal with Madonna in 2007 said to be worth as much as $100 million, including her touring, merchandising and recording rights. Madonna left Warner Bros., her label home of 25 years, after the release of her 2008 album “Hard Candy.” Her subsequent Live Nation-produced “Sticky & Sweet” tour grossed $408 million worldwide, according to Billboard Boxscore, highest ever for a female artist.

After the Madonna deal, Live Nation subsequently announced long term multi-rights deals with such artists as U2 (which does not include recorded content), Shakira, Jay-Z and others. Still, it is likely Live Nation would partner with some other entity in releasing the record, as executives at the firm have stated repeatedly that they don’t intend to enter the record business full-tilt.

“Live Nation, prior to the merger, entered into some of these all-rights deals, so there are certain artists, Madonna being one of them, that there is a recorded music strategy,” Azoff saod. “Once she gets the album recorded, we’ll sit down with her and her manager Guy Oseary and figure out what’s best for the record. It has to start with the music.”

The Swedish House Mafia is a group of three house DJs and producers: Axwell, Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso.
Ingrosso is ranked #25 in 2009 on DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJ list and has co-written and coproduced the track Cupid Boy on the Kylie Minogue album Aphrodite.20101024-news-madonna-sebastian-ingrosso-new-album-02-560x378

Listen: “Latte”

Latte – produced by Timbaland

Wikipedia reports that Latte is a collaboration between Madonna, Justin Timberlake, Timbaland and Danja. It is actually the song that got mentioned by Timbaland at one occasion. He called it “La La”.

If you’ll listen carefully, you’ll hear that the chorus is actually pretty familiar as it contains lyrics from “Pala Tute” that Madonna has incorporated in the lyrics of La Isla Bonita on Live Earth and Sticky & Sweet Tour performances.

If You Go Away (2004):

“If You Go Away” is a cover of a song which was originally performed by Jaques Brel and later covered by many other artists, including queen of pop.

Madonna’s cover was recorded in 2004 as one of the songs for Hello Suckers – Madonna’s musical that unfortunately never saw the light of day. Producers of the musical were Patrick Leonard and Mirwais Ahmadzai.

Holiday (1983 demo):

Joe Henry about producing music with Madonna

Posted by Sylar On Friday, July 23, 2010 11 comments

Joe Henry in the sudioMadonna's brother in law Joe Henry, who co-wrote Madonna's hits Don't Tell Me and Jump has been asked by Jam! if producing an album for the Queen of Pop would be a good idea.

And he said: "Don't think we haven't talked about it. When she's ready to make that shift, it's easily done. I think it's just a matter of her getting to the point creatively where she is completely at peace with swimming in different water. I believe we'll get there. And I'll be terribly excited about it when it happens."

Posted by Sylar On Tuesday, March 23, 2010 14 comments

derulo Jason Derulo, who is no stranger now to storming the charts and working with powerhouse pop divas, is about to work with another legendary artist who is certainly familiar with the Top 10.

The rising R&B star, 21, just saw his first two singles off of his self-titled debut album hit the Billboard charts, has toured with fan Lady Gaga and this week nabbed the top spot in the Us Weekly Buzzometer. So what's next? He's on his way into the studio to work with Madonna! Derulo told our own Zach Johnson all about it plus other future plans (including his love life!) when he gave Us a ring the other day. Read on for more from Jason!

Us: Are there any other artists you'd like to tour with or maybe collaborate with musically?

JD: Yeah. I'm about to work with Madonna, and I’ve been watching her for years. I would love to be a part of another reinvention. She’s been able to reinvent herself time and time again. I’ll probably be part of that.
