“It’s So Cool” credits

Posted by Sylar On Monday, August 31, 2009 8 comments

Just a week after the writers of Revolver were made public, now we find another new Madonna song listed at Warner Chappell: It's So Cool, which has been long rumoured across the online Madonna community. It's a song from the American Life sessions, which means it's no surprise that Mirwais Ahmadzaï and Monte Pittman are credited alongside Madonna.

It's Monte's second songwriting credit, after Easy Ride. It's So Cool is expected to be an iTunes pre-order exclusive bonus track for Celebration, reworked by Paul Oakenfold. On the other hand, there's no sign of the song "Broken (I'm Sorry)" from the Oakenfold sessions, which most likely means this track is being kept in the vaults and was not submitted to Warner.

Vanity Fair cover in HQ

Posted by Sylar On Friday, March 28, 2008 1 comments

You just couldn’t wait, could you? Overnight, a low-quality scan of Vanity Fair’s May cover, featuring Madonna, leaked onto the Internet. We have no idea how it happened, but why fight it? Click the thumbnail for a beautiful image of the entire cover to tide you over until Monday, when we’ll post Rich Cohen’s insightful profile and much, much more.

The new cover was shot at Smashbox Studios, in West Hollywood, by Madonna’s longtime collaborator Steven Meisel. The idea for the image came from V.F.’s editor, Graydon Carter, who was inspired by a midcentury fashion-magazine cover. A custom-made globe of the world (measuring four feet in diameter) served as the centerpiece, and at the end of the shoot Madonna agreed to autograph the globe so that it can be auctioned off for charity. (Details on the auction will be posted soon.)

That’s all for now, but be sure to come back Monday!

As you can see from the photographs below, Madonna has indeed landed in Malawi and David is with her.

Familiar faces in the studio with Madonna

Posted by Sylar On Sunday, April 08, 2007 0 comments
As you probably heard, Madonna has spent some quality time recently working on new material for her next album.

But most interestingly, while reports of new producers and collaborators keep coming in, MadonnaTribe has also heard something we thought it was nice to share with our readers.

In fact, Madonna has not abandoned some of her collaborators from the past few albums, and a few familiar faces from her recent releases and world tours are currently working with her in the studio in London.

Madonna proved herself once again a genious of marketing and communication and managed to perfectly fill the gap between the Confessions Tour and her next studio album being on everyone's mouth thanks to her collaboration with H&M and a perfectly timed campaign.
Now, there are a few tentative release dates for the new CD we've been reported about, but let's stick to facts when it comes to "when the new album is coming out", but be warned: it won't be a very long wait and everything hints that there's a lot of very exciting things coming in.

If Madonna Calls...

Fans of Apple are probably counting the days for the debut of their new revolutionary iPhone that will hit the US market in mid-year and will be coming to Europe this next fall.

Well, rejoice, there is a way to get your iPhone faster! Or maybe not.
All you have to do is... being Madonna.
The Queen of Pop gave the usual crowd of paparazzis waiting for her outside her London gym something more to talk about the other day, as yes, she was carrying a brand new phone. Have a guess...

Madonna - the director - coming to cinemas

Posted by Sylar On Friday, March 16, 2007 0 comments
News is just in from Germany that the commercial for "M by Madonna" is also going to be released in cinemas as part of the H&M promotion in the country - the brand's biggest single market worldwide.
This marks a hot debut for the Queen of Pop as a director on the big screen: Madonna herself did indeed sign the commercial with the help of Dan Cadan as reported here on M-Tribe in an exclusive first look news earlier this month.

In related news from Germany, the advertising and billboard campaign has also started nationwide, with the first posters being posted in undeground and bus stations and giant billboards around historical building currently under renovation like the St. Petri Church in Mönckebergstraße in Hamburg.

Madonna Trash

Posted by Sylar On Thursday, March 15, 2007 0 comments
A new exhibition is taking place at the Maison Européenne de la Photographie in Paris with a quite unique subject: Trash.

The original inspiration for this two-man project by Paris Match photographers Bruno Mouron and Pascal Rostain was an article featured on "Le Monde" where a sociology professor explained a study he had carried out in which household waste was analysed in order to provide an understanding of consumerism and social behaviour.
Mouron and Rostain found that this was both the opportunity to have some almost adolescent fun that was perfectly consistent with their profession : they decided to "go through the trash" thrown away by their celebrity clients. The way they worked has as much to do with paparazzis as with sociology: it involved tracking down, locating and planning the collection of the waste that interested them.

They started with the likes of Brigitte Bardot, Georges Marchais, Le Pen, Bernard Tapie, Yannick Noah, and Gérard Depardieu. Encouraged by Daniel Filipacchi they continued their antics in Los Angeles, rifling through the trash thrown out by Brando, Nicholson, Madonna, Michael Jackson and even Ronald Reagan.

Pascal Rostain and Bruno Mouron have been "going through the trash" for fifteen years, producing an inventory that is troubling from a moral, economic and even political point of view. But who's upsetting whom? Who's upsetting what? The subjects thamselves prefer to manage their obscenity rather than leaving it to others. The trashcan is the ultimate abjection - it is even more scatological than bodily waste - it is "pornographic" in that it denounces foibles, faults and deviances. Trash speaks to us of shame and shadow.

"Trash", by Bruno Mouron and Pascal Rostain runs from 14 March to 3 June 2007 at the Maison Européenne de la Photographie in Paris.

Members of Madonna's official fanclub Icon are treated with a 10 second preview of the "M by Madonna" commercial for H&M.

The clip does not feature the Queen of Pop itself and is actually a teaser trailer edited with some extra footage from the very last sequence of the commercial. A guy misteriously wandering in a white room saying "It, It, It, It, It...."

What's all this about? If you are not afraid of spoilers, find out more in an exclusive recap of the storyline and the characters from Madonna's directing debut by clicking on the Full Article link below.

As previously reported, the new commercial for the Brillia Mare Ariake new high rise on the Tokyo bay front has premiered on Japanese television this morning.

In the 15 second clip, directed by logtime collaborator and partner in crime Steven Klein, Madonna is seen wearing a blond wig and a great bustier-style dress, holding a guitar.

Here is a transcript of what Madonna says in the commercial, that will air until February 26 - possibly in the Tokyo area only.
