Accident at the shoot of “Burning Up”

ejwrw4 If you have VH1 Classic, there is a show called The Music Video Exposed. The director of "Burning Up", Steve Barron, said when M was laying in the boat on the lake, they were filming from above her using a "massive" crane. The shot wasn't lined up correctly, so when they extended the arm out until they were directly over her, the wheels of the apparatus behind them lifted off the ground, and the whole thing started to tip over. He said if they had extended the arm out even an inch or two further, the crane would have fallen on her and she "definitely would have died".

Can you imagine IF that did happen?

    No world with Madonna?

Interesting, but scary, weird thought, nonetheless.

Hahaha! Damn! I instantly imagined if that would happend, I mean, HER VERY FIRST MUSIC VIDEO and she'd die? Geez...

I don't consider this all that chilling, and I don't think that event was ever very likely to happen either. Hindsight is 20/20, right? So maybe he's exaggerating to come up with the most dramatic possibility. Those retrospective shows are usually filled with people desperate to fill time and come up with something, ANYTHING to say when there really isn't much to talk about.

The woman has pretty sharp reflexes and its possible she would've just jumped out of the boat. Furthermore, after it started to tip they would've had to have been incredibly stupid to extend the arm further. I mean accidents happen, and I'm grateful of course that this one didn't. But I think its being trumped up into something more significant than it was.

OMG CAN YOU IMAGINE IF SHE DIE I DON"T THINK THE WORLD WOULD BE THE SAME IF SHE HAD IN THE DEID IN THE 80s Because She has inspire Some many artists

But I think it's interesting. Not so much this story, but the fact there could have been no Madonna in the 80's. I wonder what the music industry( especially for women) would have looked like.
