Madonna in furious row with crew member

She’s fiercely protective of her children and woe betide anyone who crosses her.

So when Madonna overheard someone taking a pop at her baby boy - there was only going to be one winner.

We can reveal that Madge was devastated when a female crew member bitched about her adopted son on the set of her husband Guy Ritchie’s new film, RocknRolla.

And she wasn’t going to let the nasty comment go…

The 48-year-old Material Girl had brought two-year-old David Banda to the 3 Mills Studios, in Bow, East London, last Friday in what was meant to be a happy family outing.

But things turned sour after Madonna overheard a conversation between two crew members.

One of them asked the other what the baby’s name was. It is then claimed that one of the girls replied: “Lucky B*****d.”

Our on-set source tells us: “Madonna looked astonished by what was said and words were exchanged between them.

“Madge seemed very protective of her son and didn’t want anyone talking of him in such a manner.

“At the end of the day, she’s just a mum and doesn’t want anyone speaking ill of her family. She looked really hurt and shocked by the comment and let her feelings be made known.”

It’s no surprise that the culprit is no longer working on the film - written and directed by Ritchie and about London’s criminal underworld - which stars Thandie Newton and Gerard Butler.

Our source adds: “It’s Guy’s film and Madonna is his wife, so they’re very much the top dogs.

“It was a bit foolish to speak like that, to say the least, so it’s no surprise it all kicked off.”

It is not the first time that Madonna - who is also mum to Lourdes, 10, and six year-old Rocco - has come out fighting on behalf of baby David.

Her adoption of the youngster - who she handpicked from a Malawi orphanage last October when he was 13 months old - was mired in controversy. David’s father Yohane first gave the adoption the go-ahead and later changed his mind.

As a result, Madonna was forced to defend her actions in a series of interviews for BBC’s Newsnight, Oprah Winfrey and America’s NBC.

A spokesperson for the film was unavailable for comment and Madonna’s rep said: “We have no comment.”
