Based on figures from 2004 (the most recent available when compiled) the Re-Invention Tour box office receipts pushed Madonna ahead of Britney Spears for the first time since 2001!

Madonna is, of course, no stranger to Guinness, famously breaking Elizabeth Taylor's record for costume changes when she starred in the hit musical movie 'Evita' in 1996. Her 83 costumes, 39 hats, 56 pairs of earrings and 45 pairs of shoes easily outstripped the record Taylor had held since 1963 with her monumental movie 'Cleopatra'.

Guinness have also frequently crowned Madonna the most successful female recording artist of all time.... but compared to earrings and hats, that's not especially important, right?
