Madonna is the latest superstar to join the bill for this summer's Live Earth extravaganza, a series of concerts worldwide - organized by Al Gore - with hopes of created greater awareness for global warming and environmental causes.

Joining her Madgesty at Wembley Arena in London on July 7th are the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Razorlight, Keane, Snow Patrol, Duran Duran, the Black Eyed Peas, Genesis, Bloc Party, Corinne Bailey Rae, Damien Rice, David Gray, the Foo Fighters, James Blunt, John Legend, Paolo Nutini and the Beastie Boys.

What an amazing lineup!

London is just one of the cities taking part in the event across the globe, along with concerts in Shanghai, Johannesburg and Sydney, as well as shows in Japan, Brazil and the US.

Of the Live Earth concept, Al Gore says,"By attracting an audience of billions we hope Live Earth will launch a global campaign giving a critical mass of people around the world the tools they need to help solve the climate crisis. But ultimately, corporations and governments must become global leaders taking decisive action to stop global warming."

Proceeds from the concerts will create a foundation to combat climate change led by The Alliance for Climate Protection, currently chaired by Gore.
