“The first time I [met] Herb was on the set of Desperately Seeking Susan – and it’s true, he put a pair of underwear on my head. I thought he was a real geek. I soon moved out to Los Angeles and ran into Herb again, and in his sweet, disarming way, he suggested that we work together again. I agreed to it and that was my real first, proper photo shoot. That’s when I got ‘Herbified’. [It] was the beginning of an incredibly long and fruitful working relationship. But it was also the beginning of a great friendship.” – Madonna

  1. Trey Said,

I fucking love this photo! The Madonna/Ritts combo were probably the best combination for superb photos of the Queen.

I beg for more Madonna pics from Herb Ritts. Their combination was pure genius. I would pay whatever to a full Madonna portofolio by Herb Ritts. If he'd come back he would die again by watching some crappy work they've doing on her. With him she always look great, you could feel her aura, she looked a person and a major star. Love it to death!

this girl has style. when you can put a pair of boxers on your head and look INCREDIBLE!!! you got style. forget meat bikini's and dresses...Madonna's got it ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!! i dont think all of Madonna latest photos have been "crappy" i think Madonna and Steven Klein have something very very special!!!

I wear a pair of boxers on my head every night and unfortunately don't look as great as Madonna in this photo. :(

I thought the interview photos and the ones she did for Louis Vuitton in the french bar thing were amazing. But yeah old school madonna look you can never beat those. She was simply aesthetically perfect back then. I mean her style was amazing but what made her striking was the fact she was a natural bomb shell and sex symbol.
