VAN SANT: Now the music industry is sort of like a Craigslist venture, right? Where you're making your own records and selling them online.
MADONNA: Yeah. It's weird-that's exactly what's going on. I don't have a record deal right now with anybody. I don't know how I'm going to get my music out the next time I make a record.
VAN SANT: You have to rethink how to do it.
MADONNA: I'm going to have to reinvent the wheel. I haven't really been focused as much as I should be on the music part of my career because this movie has just consumed every inch of me. Between that and my four children, I don't have the time or the energy for anything else. For example, I do appreciate that lots of people worked long and hard putting together things like the DVD of the Sticky & Sweet tour that we just released, and I have seen the finished product, but I have got no idea how people are going to find out about it or how it's going to be sold.
VAN SANT: They'll find it. [laughs]
MADONNA: Hopefully. I think I have a fan club- well, that's what they say.

    This sounds weird :(

This is what a photo shoot is suppose to look like. I really enjoyed these pics. They should call the piece revisiting the glory days of yeaster year. Cause the outfits really are a representation or very similar to some looks and photos she took/had before. Giving me ideas for her next tour. I keep thinking I want to see her in outfits like she has on in her background videos. I want to see her in theme on stage singing. Crazy shit. But maybe that would be too difficult getting in and out and performing.

i was really shocked when i read the last section of the interview where madonna for the first time really admits that she doesn't have a record deal anymore! i think that's due to the fact that live nation has cancelled it's plan to create an own record label some time ago. this also explains the delay of the s&s dvd - because it seems that they weren't able to find a distributor for it.

so this is really bad news for all the fans out there, and i'm a little bit confused, that everybody is talking about the pictures but not about the content of the interview which also has a lot of impact on all her fans.

don' forget: at the time madonna signed the deal with live nation they planned to create their own record label. but last year the dropped this idea and said that they are not going to make their own label anymore. there have been talks that live nation would probably license their artists like madonna to different major label, but obviously this plan has also been dropped. so it's true: MADONNA IS WITHOUT A RECORD CONTRACT at the moment - oh my dear!
