Sticky & Sweet in 2009!

Posted by Sylar On Friday, January 23, 2009

So for once the rumours - or part of them - seem to be true.
MadonnaTribe has heard and can report that the Madonna team is indeed working on plans to hit the road again this Summer.
It won't be a proper new tour
, but rather an extension of last year's show. It is currently planned to last two months - July and August - and it should mainly visit cities where the 2008 tour hasn't stopped. Also. as of now, this is shaped as a European tour only.
It is probably too early to say which countries will be included. Marseille in France made the headlines today with yet to be confirmed reports of Madonna performing at the Velodrome in mid-July.
The other stops that have been mentioned the most by the rumour mill so far have been Milan, Italy, where Madonna is rumoured to play San Siro's Meazza Stadium, and a short residency at Greenwhich's O2 Arena in London, England.
There is certainly a lot more in the making so it will be better to wait until an official announcement turns rumours into facts, but the most discussed topic in the Madonna online community in this beginning of 2009 seems indeed to be true: Madonna will extend the Sticky & Sweet tour with a revamped show next Summer.

Too bad I'm in the USA, not Europe. :(

i missed the tour and had to sell my ticket due to work! i want to see this so bad...i hope she will revamp with more older hits.

this seems to be a cool idea and will definitely add more weight ($$$)to the highest grossing tour by a female ever!!!

This is lame. She is turning into a stale act like Cher and Celine. I truly hope this is not true. She's not supposed to repeat herself. She should move past the Hard Candy era, work on great new music, bring us a new sound, and then a mind-blowing tour... I really hope this is not true.

  5. Anonymous Said,

I dont see this happening. I am sure M is completely over the SS tour. She will move on to something new.

OMG I so hope this is true! Then I might finally get a chance to see her!! She's gonna have lot's of time to work on her new album anyway,

  11. Anonymous Said,

I think she or her team mention about doing it in some parts of the country that she hasnt visited in awhile like Australia! I think she might do a shorter less expensive version of S&S, who knows...but i do hope this will materialize. SO I can see her here in AUssie!

If she were to do a repeat tour, it is extremely deperate. I hope this is not true but if it is, it just seems to be another way of Madonna raking in more money for herself or "live nation", The dvd will have been out by then, its going ot be a complete re-gurge which she has always sworn she would never do.
    Sort it out madonna.

  13. Anonymous Said,

so what if shes doing it for more money. What you go to work everyday for free!!. Just because you got to see the tour doesnt mean others who didnt get a chance to see it can't go. Im sure theres a concert or performace out there that she did and you missed; that you wish she would redo.

  14. Anonymous Said,

er no, and if i did miss one ive seen plenty others and i would just wait for the dvd.
    My point is...
She is supposed to be the queen of re-invention NOT Regurgitation!!

The whole thing is just soooo WEIRD!!! I'm glad and I'm not at the same time...I mean, if she goes on tour every year she will turn into one of those boring acts like Cliff Richard..no more front pages!!
Still I'm sure that if is really happening I'll be the first in line the buy the tickets! Just can't get enough of Madge!!!
