Bill Maher and Larry Charles' anti-religion documentary "Religulous" John Maybury's romantic drama "The Edge of Love" and Jia Zhang Ke's "24 City" (Er shi si cheng ji) will be among the highlights of the 26th Turin Film Festival, organizers said Friday.
Although the festival's full lineup will not be released until Nov. 7, the festival released the names of about two dozen titles in various sections a week ahead of time. Other highlights include Madonna's directorial debut, "Filth and Wisdom," and Kelly Reichardt's drama "Wendy and Lucy." Most of the film named so far -- and all of the films mentioned above -- are in the official selection. But there has been no word yet on the makeup of the festival's competition lineup, which focuses on directors' first and second works. As previously announced, Oliver Stone's George W. Bush satire, "W.," will be the opening film for the festival, which also will include a retrospective of director Roman Polanski. Both Stone and Polanski are expected to make an appearance at the festival, which is set to run Nov. 21-29.
