Madonna's "Filth and Wisdom" was premiered in New York City yesterday night.

Lindsay Lohan, Jessica Alba and Brooke Shields were some of the A-list fans who attended the screening at the Landmark Sunshine Theater in the Village.
Madonna produced, co-wrote and directed the film, which narrates three flatmates in London.
Starting out as a short movie, it developed into an 81-minute feature after the singer said she "fell in love" with the characters.
This includes a Ukrainian immigrant who's an aspiring musician, an unsuccessful ballerina who resorts to pole-dancing, and a pharmacist's assistant who dreams of working with children in Africa.

Madonna says her husband Guy Richie was helpful in guiding her through her first directing gig.

"He told me to make sure I show up on the set with confidence," she said."That was his tip, yeah."
"Filth and Wisdom" opens in the US on October 17.
