Madonna has been nominated as Best Act Ever at the 2008 MTV Europe Music Awards. The category encomprises the acts – new, established or legendary - that fans love the most. Madonna is in the shortlist of 40 artists for the best act ever award - with frontrunners such as The Beatles and Take That.

This year's MTV Europe Music Awards is set to be staged at the Echo Arena in Liverpool on Thursday, November 6 as one of the highlights of Liverpool's year as European Capital Of Culture.
