Madonna scored a double #1 this week topping both the UK single and album charts for the fourth time in her career.

Madonna's new release "Hard Candy" entered straight to #1 and "4 Minutes" was confirmed as the #1 single for the third week.

Announcing the new placements the Official UK Charts Company said no other female solo artist has had simultaneous number ones more than once.

Hard Candy debuted at number 1 also in Australia according to ARIA - www.aria.com.au - and it is certified GOLD (35,000).

4 Minutes holds onto the number 1 stop on the singles charts this week. This is two consecutive weeks now. Also the single is certified GOLD (35,000).
