Madonna is not formally backing U.S. presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton, contrary to rumors and media reports claiming she has.

In a Q&A with Women's Wear Daily at the US premiere of "Revolver" Madonna was asked "Hillary or Obama?", to what she replied "Hillary,'because I’ve gotta support the girls... and because I’m a big fan of the Clintons".

This little chat was later reprised as an official endorsemen and with more than a grain of speculation, until her representative made things clear speaking to Access Hollywood tonight:

"Madonna has not formally endorsed Hillary Clinton.
She's certainly spoken highly of her, but that's it."
