Marco: I know these days you're working as an actor with Madonna. What can you tell me about this project?

Eugene Hutz: Actually we have just completed the shooting last week. It's a short movie titled Filth & Wisdom and I play the main character, the entire band is in the film. I've been aware for a year that Madonna was a Gogol Bordello fan and in the end, we met trough mutual friends and we spoke a lot. Madonna is a funny person, respectful and collaborative, she offered me a role in her film and I found myself facing an offer I couldn't refuse. I was excited to work with her.

I play a charachter with a philosophical mood that actually has a lot about me. Gogol Bordello contributed to the soundtrack with three songs and Madonna let me add into dialogs parts written by me. I'm happy I had this experience even if I hadn't the time to do it right now. It was something very creative, intelligent and superfun

Marco: Did Madonna feel comfortable behind the camera?

Eugene Hutz:I think she was very good and most of all she was scrupoulous, that's something I think it's essential for a director. She knew what she wanted and she gave me total creative freedom, so for me it was an incredible experience. Speaking about the Gogol Bordello songs, I'd say they give a "heavy" touch to the film, just wait and see!
