"Madonna has a huge year ahead of her, and she's already getting some shine. At the Golden Globes on Sunday night (January 15), the pop star-turned-film director nabbed the Best Original Song prize for "Masterpiece," which was featured in "W.E.," which she wrote and directed.

Taking the stage in her glittering Reem Acra-designed dress, Madge thanked the many collaborators who helped her write the song featured in her first feature film, which opens in wide release next month.

"This is a surprise," she told the room, clutching her prize. "Thank you so much to the Hollywood Foreign Press for this acknowledgement. I need to thank my co-writers, Jimmy Harry and Julie Frost, my co-producer William Orbit, who's not here, whom I adore."

As her speech went on, she opened up a bit about the creation of the award-winning track, ignoring her exit music altogether.

"I would also like to thank my manager, Guy Oseary, who I spend most of my time beating up on me," she said. "But seriously, he harangued me for the entire time I was filming and editing my movie to write a song. And I said, 'Please, Guy, I'm trying to focus on being a director and I want people to be able to pay attention to the film and I don't have time.' So then I finished the film and I started making my record and somehow magically and miraculously the song emerged, 'Masterpiece,' so thank you, Guy Oseary, for being so irritating."

As her speech wrapped up, she thanked her leading lady in the film, Andrea Riseborough, and producer Harvey Weinstein, whom she called the Punisher.

This is hardly Madonna's first Golden Globe. She previously won Best Actress in Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy for playing Eva Peron in "Evita." "Masterpiece" is expected to appear on Madonna's forthcoming new record, M.D.N.A."

"Madonna said she's more nervous about performing at the Super Bowl in Indianapolis next month than she is about the premiere of her new movie.

In an interview with ABC's Cynthia McFadden, the singer said she's in the process of planning her halftime show and auditioning dancers to perform with her at Lucas Oil Stadium.

"It's quite a daunting task because I have, you know, in the middle of this very important event in Americans' lives, I have to put on the greatest show on Earth," Madonna said.

The material girl said she's had a lot of creative ideas about how to make her show unique, but not all are feasible.

"I actually wanted to have 100 drummers come from the ceiling, (but) it can't take the weight," she said.

Madonna and her crew will have eight minutes to set up her stage, 12 minutes to perform and seven minutes to take everything down before the second half begins.

The singer said she's learning to create within the limitations.

"I have ideas. I get like, 'Oh my God, this is amazing.' And then like, 'No, that's not going to work,'" she said. "So it's forcing me to be creative with a lot of various restrictions."

Madonna was loaned gems from Cartier for Andrea Riseborough's Simpson to wear in the movie, but she brought her own collection of treasures in for Cornish to wear during the shoot.

Madonna Signs 3 Album Deal With Interscope

Madonna has signed with Interscope, a source close to the situation confirmed to Billboard.biz Wednesday morning (Dec. 14).

According to a report in the New York Post, the singer will continue the 10-year multi-rights deal with Live Nation -- said to be worth as much as $100 million -- that she signed in 2007, but has inked a three-album pact with Interscope at a base of $1 million per album. Billboard.biz's source could not confirm the terms of the deal at press time but said the report sounded right. Sources indicated to Billboard early last month that Madonna was likely to ink with Interscope.

Abbie Cornish - who stars the singer's new directorial effort 'W.E.', about the story of Britain's King Edward VIII and his American wife Wallis Simpson - confesses she was great to work with because she really "loves" learning and was "very well read".

She revealed: "Madonna is natural director. It's in her nature. She's a Leo and she really represents the Leos very well.

"She's a very smart woman, very well read. She really absorbs a lot about whatever she's involved in. I think she really loves learning. It was interesting to see her evolve throughout the filmmaking process. She's such a cool woman."

Abbie, who plays Wally Winthrop in the two-tier story taking place over separate timelines, also reveals Madonna's 14-year-old daughter Lourdes portrays a younger version of her character in the movie.

Live Nation chairman on Madonna’s New Album/Tour

It looks like Madonna is preparing to enter the studio to record a new album, the first under her $100 million multi-rights deal with Live Nation, which another lucrative tour seems likely as well.

“They tell me Madonna is about to record, so there could be another Madonna cycle coming,” Live Nation Entertainment Chairman Irving Azoff told Billboard.biz during an interview earlier this week. Asked if the Madonna album would come through Live Nation, Azoff responded, “Yes,” meaning Madonna’s album could be the first recorded content overseen by Live Nation. The Zac Brown Band’s LP “The Foundation” was initially geared to be a Live Nation project in 2008, but the company folded its label division with the exit of then-chairman Michael Cohl and the record ended up on Atlantic.

Azoff’s news was echoed by Madonna manager Guy Oseary this week via Twitter: “The update is that Madonna can’t wait to get into the recording studio. This will happen as soon as she finishes the movie she directed.”

Live Nation signed a 10-year multi-rights deal with Madonna in 2007 said to be worth as much as $100 million, including her touring, merchandising and recording rights. Madonna left Warner Bros., her label home of 25 years, after the release of her 2008 album “Hard Candy.” Her subsequent Live Nation-produced “Sticky & Sweet” tour grossed $408 million worldwide, according to Billboard Boxscore, highest ever for a female artist.

After the Madonna deal, Live Nation subsequently announced long term multi-rights deals with such artists as U2 (which does not include recorded content), Shakira, Jay-Z and others. Still, it is likely Live Nation would partner with some other entity in releasing the record, as executives at the firm have stated repeatedly that they don’t intend to enter the record business full-tilt.

“Live Nation, prior to the merger, entered into some of these all-rights deals, so there are certain artists, Madonna being one of them, that there is a recorded music strategy,” Azoff saod. “Once she gets the album recorded, we’ll sit down with her and her manager Guy Oseary and figure out what’s best for the record. It has to start with the music.”

Madonna wows Berlin buyers

Berlinale buyers were in a frenzy on Saturday night after Stuart Ford’s IM Global screened footage of Madonna’s second directorial effort, “W.E.” to a limited amount of industryites.

IM Global brought the thrush-turned-helmer to the European Film Market to screen a promo reel of the pic, a parallel love story about the affair between King Edward VIII and American divorcee Wallis Simpson and a contemporary romance between a married woman and a Russian security guard.

Foreign buyers queued up outside the Cine Star in hopes to nab a seat to the exclusive screening, which saw Madonna provide an intimate Q&A after the footage.

Sources say that buyers were told they couldn’t bid for the pic unless they saw the footage, which had buyers scrambling to save seats for the event.

Strictly no press were allowed and attendees were not permitted to use mobile phones throughout the event.

During the Q&A, Madonna revealed that she was willing to travel to promote the pic for distribs, which apparently hit the switch for interested parties.

Bids were fielded almost immediately after the event with several international territories already expected to have closed.

Pic toplines Andrea Riseborough, Abbie Cornish, James D’Arcy and Richard Coyle and is penned by Madonna and Alek Keshishian, who directed the queen of pop in 1991′s “Madonna: Truth or Dare.”

Kris Thykier (“Kick Ass”) produces the pic alongside Hagen Bogdanski and Colin Vaines, who also produced Ralph Fiennes’ directorial debut “Coriolanus,” which is screening in competition at Berlinale.

This is the second time IM Global has courted overseas distribs with creative in Berlin this year — the outfit also brought Kevin Smith to the fest to tubthump his pic “Red State.”

Stuart Ford's IM Global has sold Madonna-directed "W.E." to StudioCanal's U.K. distribution arm Optimum following a late night of negotiations.

IM Global has also sold Village Roadshow the rights for Australia and New Zealand on the pic starring Andrea Riseborough, Abbie Cornish, James D'Arcy and Richard Coyle.

After Madonna came to Berlin Saturday to screen footage from the pic, IM Global received bids from France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Russia, Latin America and Scandinavia, with negotiations ongoing.

During the Q&A after the promo reel, Madonna said she was willing to travel to promote the pic, which apparently helped boost distrib interest.

“W.E.” won’t be screened at Cannes

Madonna’s feature film W.E. will not be screening as part of the Festival de Cannes in May, according to IMGlobal, the sales agent that is handling the film.
While the French newspaper Le Parisien/Aujourd’hui said on Thursday that the film would appear at the festival, the Madonna-directed movie, which is currently in post-production, it is not expected to be completed in time for Cannes and is instead aiming for a bow on the fall film circuit.
Madonna is expected to visit Berlin next month to host a private screening of select footage for foreign distributors attending the European Film Market.
W.E. stars Abbie Cornish and Oscar Isaac in parallel stories about the love affair between Wallis Simpson and King Edward VIII as well as one about a modern romance.
The official selection of films that will appear at Cannes won’t be announced by artistic director Thierry Fremaux until April.

Madonna to preview W.E. at Berlin festival

Madonna is to give a sneak preview of her latest film project during the Berlin Film Festival next month, organizers said Thursday, confirming media reports.
The 52-year-old singer and actress is to show excerpts from her project, entitled W.E., about the relationship between British king Edward VIII and American socialite Wallis Simpson during the 1930s, B.Z. newspaper reported.
The private screening will reportedly take place on the first weekend of the Berlinale festival. The full film is not to be shown until the Cannes film festival in May.
The first film directed by Madonna – a romantic comedy entitled Filth and Wisdom – was screened at the Berlin film festival three years ago.

Madonna made sure orphaned children in Malawi had a merry Christmas – she sent boxes of toys, clothes and other gifts to her charity in the African country.

The Holiday hitmaker brought some festive cheer to parentless children by shipping the aid packages – which also contained chocolate and sweets – to staff at the Raising Malawi foundation to hand out to local kids.

She included a handwritten note reading: “To my Malawi children on Christmas and Boxing Day. I wish I was with you. See you soon, M.”

Jellybean gets sued over Madonna’s Holiday

Madonna’s longtime producer John ‘Jellybean’ Benitez is being sued for $10million over royalties from her hit song Holiday.
Benitez offered the track to the pop superstar back in 1983 when she was recording her debut album – and it became her first hit single.
He agreed at the time that all royalties would be split between him and the Spirit One Music group, with Jellybean responsible for distributing the cash, according to the lawsuit filed in Manhattan Supreme Court.
But Spirit insists Jellybean reneged on the deal – and has held back at least $10million owed to the firm.
Jellybean ‘repeatedly and unrepentantly misstated and underreported revenues due to its joint owner, Spirit,’ and ‘repeatedly, systematically and intentionally made delinquent and tardy payments’ to Spirit, according to the lawsuit.
The suit says Benitez has ‘concocted flimsy, bad-faith excuses for its inaccuracy.’
Spirit wants $10million in allegedly unpaid royalties, said Spirit’s lawyer, Wallace Collins. Representatives for Benitez did not respond to requests for comment.

Madonna's Special Treatment Angers Virgin Airline Passengers

With snow causing shutdowns at UK airports, passengers on a diverted Virgin Atlantic flight from New York are complaining, not about the weather but about special treatment given Madonna and her entourage.
Flight VS010 was supposed to land at Heathrow, but was instead diverted to Standsted Airport, where passengers sat on the plane for nearly three hours -- except for Madonna, who was reportedly allowed to disembark two hours before everyone else.
"After about an hour, a bus came along and took her and her party of about 15 off the plane. It seemed a -- little unfair -- it's not like she is the President or anything. The rest of us all had to wait for another two hours," a disgruntled fellow passenger tells the UK's Daily Mail.
A statement from Virgin, obtained by AOL Travel News, says the plane was diverted "due to very difficult weather conditions" and the disembarkation was delayed by ground crew until buses arrived to take passengers to London's Heathrow. "We apologize for any inconvenience this diversion caused, but for safety reasons this action was unavoidable."
As for Madonna's special treatment, Virgin says, "It is common across airlines that business- and first-class passengers disembark first and this is reflected in the higher cost of the ticket."
But the unidentified passenger, who was also in Virgin's Upper Class, says "Madonna was taken off the plane way before the rest of the first-class people. We were all grumbling about it."
The passenger also complains the Queen of Pop used her hour-long delay to do yoga in the plane's aisles.

Madonna in partnership with her manager Guy Oseary and Mark Mastrov, Chairman of New Evolution Ventures (NeV), announced the opening of the second Hard Candy Fitness Center in Moscow which is projected to open in mid-March 2011.
The new facility will be a beautifully designed and unique 35,000 square foot space located near Red Square. Moscow’s Hard Candy Fitness will also include a partnership with Irina Razumova, founder of the well know Russian chain Planet Fitness. The news of the Moscow location comes on the heels of a successful grand opening for the brand’s premiere location last week in Mexico City, which featured a special dance class taught by Madonna.

Madonna sweats details in Mexico debut of new gym

As the glass doors of Hard Candy Fitness, Madonna’s first gym, slide open in Mexico City on Monday, a mural of white, black and violet Warhol-esque images of the Queen of Pop greets each client.

But it’s no disco with exercise machines or Hard Rock Cafe-style temple of Madge memorabilia.

The facilities are not much different from any other high-class gym in Mexico City, and very little screams that this is Madonna’s first fitness venture, apart from the name — the title of her last album — which she says in fitness parlance is the perfect combination of “hard body” and “eye candy.”

“It’s a sexy name that gives you the opportunity to have fun and to build strength as far as the imagination will allow,” the singer, dancer, actress, children’s author and clothing designer said in a Q&A provided by her handlers.

Still, not every gym opens with a Hollywood red carpet appearance by one of the most powerful women in entertainment, who will cut the ribbon as tradition dictates, then teach a dance class for 20 hand-picked members with music by Paul Oakenfold, the DJ who opened her last tour.

The star said she chose Mexico City because it was a stop on last year’s Sticky & Sweet tour, which grossed $408 million, second only to the Rolling Stones’ A Bigger Bang Tour. She said she liked the energy of the people.

“Our plan is to use Mexico as a place to fine-tune our brand and then expand it to other countries and, in the long term, develop a global brand that includes the United States,” she said, noting that Mexico is close enough to home for her to be heavily involved.

Though Madonna’s own hard body may not be plastered everywhere in the gym, the singer of “Like a Virgin” is omnipresent in the 30,000-square-foot (2,800-square-meter) facility in the city’s upscale Bosques de las Lomas neighborhood, much as she has been in pop culture for nearly three decades.

Her touch is in the mosaic design of the bathroom tile and in the yoga salon’s bamboo floor imported from China.

“She chose the graphics, colors, the machines,” said Chris Dedicik, general director of California-based New Evolution Ventures, Madonna’s partner in creating the gym. “She has weighed in on the choreography of all the classes and given them a twist to make them more dynamic, more special and to better reflect her style.”

Members can do cardiovascular exercises on five types of advanced-technology machines chosen by Madonna, many with individual viewing screens and iPod docks.

The yoga instructors are trained in various styles of the ancient Indian art, inspired by the knowledge the singer has accumulated in her travels. The yoga room will also have a special wall used in Iyengar yoga, one of very few in the world according to Dedicik, with ropes and steps to help people with less physical ability. A balcony outside will feature plants and Zen-style decor, all at the singer’s request.

“If any of you have seen my shows, you know that I don’t skimp on them and the same is true for the gym,” she said. “We spend what it takes to make a globally first-class gym.”

At 52, the Material Girl’s own workout regimen is legendary and her physique has been both admired and chided for being overdone. Her famously pumped biceps have been labeled scary by some.

Members who have signed up so far didn’t seem to care about matching Madonna’s workout feats. Those using the gym during a weekend preview said they liked the equipment and features and cited proximity to their home or work as their reason for joining.

Ronen Waiss, businessman and Honorary Consul of Lithuania in Mexico, said his office is two doors away and he registered long before he was told it was a venture by Madonna.

“I think it’s super sexy and motivating of course, but I didn’t know till after I joined,” said Waiss, 32. “But it’s attractive to me because it’s close and has the best computer technology. That’s what caught my attention.”

Clara Ruiz, a 59-year-old housewife, said she, too, chose the gym for location. But she likes the facility and wishes Madonna success in her new venture.

“She has a lot of experience in this,” Ruiz said. “She’s done it all her life. I think she chose what for her is the best.”

As announced Madonna was one of the guest on Today's Ellen's show. She discussed a series of themes, some of them quite important as teen being bullied and teen suicides.

She said: "I'm incredibly disturbed and saddened by the overwhelming number of teen suicides that have been reported lately because of bullying. Suicide in general is disturbing. Teenagers committing suicide is extremely disturbing but to hear that teenagers are taking their lives because they are being bullied in schools and dormitories, what have you, is kind of unfathomable. I know a number of people have spoken out about it but I feel like I need to say something. The gay community has been incredibly supportive of me. I wouldn't have a career if it weren't for the gay community. I have a teenage daughter and I have ongoing discussions with her about this topic so I feel like I need to say a few words."

Madonna also confessed she was bullied as a kid: "I can totally relate to the idea of feeling isolated and alienated. I was incredibly lonely as a child, as a teenager. I have to say I never felt like I fit in in school. I wasn't a jock. I wasn't an intellectual. There was no group that I felt a part of. I just felt like a weirdo".

She took the time to remember her mentor Christopher Flynn when she said: "It wasn't until my ballet teacher who was also gay took me under his wing and introduced me to a community of artists of other unique individuals who told me it was good and okay to be different and brought me to my first gay disco and ironically made me feel I was part of the world and it was okay to be different."

Madonna says she talk to her children about respecting other people and about the importance of not judging people who are different. "The concept that we are torturing teenagers because they are gay. It's kind of like I said earlier. It's unfathomable. It's like lynching black people or Hitler exterminating Jews. Sorry if I'm going on a rampage right now but this is America. The land of the free and the home of the brave", she said.

But is there a solution to bullying for Madonna? "I think it would be interesting for everybody to try one simple experiment. Try to get through the day each and everyone of us without gossiping about anybody. Not even listening to gossip. Walking away from it. Can you imagine what your day would be like? How much more free time you'd have? I also feel like you'd feel better about yourself" . Going back to her work, the Queen of Pop announced that she's in the process of editing her film right now and as soon as she's done with it she'll literally " got to get my butt in the studio and make some more music".

Madonna has gained some royal approval in the form of Princess Michael of Kent.

The two met when Madonna was doing research for her debut film as a director about Wallis Simpson.

Princess Michael said: “I found Madonna rather pleasant. My husband had no interest in meeting her. He is not one for showbusiness.”

The royal couple met Wallis in her later years, although Princess Michael was unable to provide Madonna with much information.

“The Duchess was too frail for tittle-tattle by the time I got to meet her. I did tell [Madonna] Wallis was one of those woman who stopped the traffic.

The 52-year-old singer launched the range some time back with her 13-year-old daughter Lourdes.

‘We’re focused on rolling Material Girl out into additional categories, including swim and intimates and expanding the dress assortments. We launched footwear with ballet flats this season but we’re going to expand into a full footwear collection going forward. A 59-year-old retired FDNY firefighter yesterday was busted for the second time in four days outside Madonna’s Upper West Side apartment, where he displayed signs professing his love for the pop icon.

“Madonna, I need you,” said a sign strapped to the top of Robert Linhart’s SUV. “Tell me yes or no,” another sign said. “If it’s yes, my dream will come true. If it’s no, I will go. XXX.”

The answer conveyed by Madonna’s security people was a definite no. Cops wound up handcuffing Linhart and hauling him to the 20th Precinct station house.

He’s charged with criminal weapons possession — a Leatherman knife and a pocket knife — as well as disorderly conduct, making graffiti, possessing a graffiti instrument and resisting arrest. Linhart had been stalking Madonna’s apartment for several days, witnesses said. Cops on Saturday busted him on charges of obstructing governmental administration, disorderly conduct, criminal mischief and resisting arrest.

“We thought he was homeless. But then we saw he had a car,” said Angel Melendez, a security guard in the neighborhood.

The Toyota SUV contained artist equipment, a firefighters’ uniform and a Paris tour guide. One of Linhart’s signs suggested he has traveled widely to stalk to the aging pop star. It said he’d seen Madonna “this year” in Prague — she gave a concert there in 2009 — and added, “Meet me, please.”

Linhart retired from the FDNY in 1998, a department spokesman said. For at least the past decade, he has lived in Huletts Landing, NY, a rural town on Lake George.

He’s only the latest in a long line of wacky Madonna-wannabe beaus.

A bodyguard in the 1990s shot and wounded Robert Hoskins, who stalked her in California and threatened to slice her “from ear to ear” if she didn’t become his wife.
Madonna testified at Hoskins’ trial in 1996, despite admitting that being in the same room with him made her “sick to my stomach.” Hoskins was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
When Madonna performed in Madison Square Garden in 2004, security guards ejected an alleged stalker who had bought a ticket to the show. And in 2000, her then-boyfriend, movie director Guy Ritchie, was accused of assault in London for slugging a stalker who admitted he was “a bit obsessed” with the star.

Studio chiefs were desperate to cast Cruise in the role of mobster Henry Hill and Madonna was wanted to play his wife – until Ray Liotta and Lorraine Bracco won over Scorsese and the movie’s producers.

Speaking to GQ magazine on Goodfellas’ 20th anniversary, producer Irwin Winkler admits, “Tom Cruise was discussed. Marty wanted Ray… Frankly I thought we could do a lot better and then me and my wife were having dinner one night in a restaurant and lo and behold, Ray Liotta came over to me. He said, ‘Look, I know you don’t really want me for it, but…’ And he sold me on the role right that evening. I called Marty the next morning.”

Bracco beat out Madonna for the role of Karen Hill, despite Scorsese initially favoring the Material Girl.

Fellow producer Barbara De Fina says, “Madonna seemed to be in the mix. I remember that we went to see her in the play Speed-the-Plow. Marty said hello to her afterwards. Can you imagine? Tom Cruise and Madonna? But Marty can get a performance out of almost anyone.”

The perfect school for free in Malawi

The architectural brains behind Madonna’s new all-girl academy in Malawi won the pop star’s trust by creating a boarding school blueprint which doesn’t resemble a gloomy prison for kids.

German-born Markus Dochantschi was introduced to the star by her Raising Malawi charity director and he offered to create a plan for the perfect school for free.

He tells Architectural Digest magazine that Madonna was very specific about what she wanted her Raising Malawi Academy for Girls to look like.

He says, “We were asked to design a prototype boarding school replicable by others even in different countries, without repeating the typical British-style school that you see in former British colonies.”

“The design is not just about aesthetics and materials but about helping to understand the society you’re building for. For example, in Africa, you realise the importance of open space, of being outside and understanding nature. So we designed a very open pedestrian campus.”

Dochantschi tells the publication the school will cater for 450 students from all over Malawi - and he reveals the pop star is keen for all the children who start the academy to finish with honours.

He adds, “Traditionally, a lot of girls drop out in eighth grade, shortly before they get married… Madonna hopes that the school will instill pride in their homeland, and that educated young women will understand the importance of remaining in Malawi, supporting their own communities.”

The architect also reveals Madonna broke ground on the school with a shovel which featured the inscription ‘Dare to dream’.

The idea was that she was in this Pepsi studio, but she was thinking back to when she was a kid. I was in a birthday party scene. They had me wear this horrible tomboy outfit, while all the other kids got to wear dresses. I remember Madonna came in to see all the kids. I was really shy, but she singled me out and held my face and said, “Doesn’t she look like somebody?” It was super cool."

Madonna used her own furniture for W.E.

Madonna is so hands-on with the production of “W.E.” she’s delivering her own furniture to the set. Madge is directing the film, which tracks a young, married New Yorker (Abbie Cornish) who’s obsessed with the story of King Edward VIII’s abdication. “W.E.” started shooting in London in July, and sources said Madonna – who is reportedly financing the picture herself – saved cash by bringing her own furniture from her house across the pond to use on the set. Her rep wouldn’t confirm the furniture move but said she was involved in “all aspects” of the movie.

In June, Madonna acknowledged its high cost to Interview: “Once I started casting and planning and working with my production designer, I went, “Oh, [bleep], I wrote a script about a bunch of rich people. That’s going to be great for the budget.” Filming has now moved to New York, particularly around Sotheby’s, where Cornish’s character works.

Madonna has been auditioning dancers for the launch party of her new junior clothing brand Material Girl.

The fashion label, which is aimed at pree-teen and teenage girls, is a collaboration between the Queen of Pop and her 13-year-old daughter Lourdes. Around 150 dancers auditioned, but only ten will be chosen to perform at the showcase of Material Girl at Macy's, New York on 22 September. In describing the label, Madonna said: "A Material Girl is a girl that is interested in fashion and interested in music and interested in fun and has a sense of humour, and is an adventurous human being." 17-year-old Gossip Girl actress, Taylor Momsen, is the face of Material Girl.

Madonna is the secret director of Miu Miu's a/w 2010 campaign film.

The campaign film for Miu Miu's autumn/winter 2010 collection has been doing the rounds for a couple of months now and we fell for it as soon as we saw it. It stars models Lindsey Wixson, Siri Tollerød, Ginta Lapina, and Daphne Groeneveld, all decked out in the lust-have embellished dresses that have caused such a stir paired with kitten heels, patent bags and matching eye shadow.

The girls laugh, play and throw shapes to some bass-heavy dance music backed by strobe lights. And it's just emerged where they got their moves from - Madonna was on set giving them tips.

Apparently Madonna rocked up onto the set of the Miu Miu campaign shoot to meet photographers Mert Atlas and Marcus Pigott and take them for dinner. But she got distracted and ended up directing the video instead.

Ginta Lapina told Love magazine, 'We were supposed to shoot a video, so Madonna said she wanted to direct it. They said she could do it but they weren't going to pay her and she started laughing. She put on her iPod and taught us moves and we shot the video for two hours.'

Britney plays Madonna in Glee episode

Britney Spears had big shoes to fill while filming her upcoming guest appearance in Glee – she played the part of Madonna in a recreation of the pair’s Me Against The Music video.

The Toxic hitmaker will be the centre of attention on the hit musical show when it returns for a second season, with a full episode dedicated to her music, and she began shooting her cameo role this week.

During the second day of filming on Thursday, Spears donned a white trouser suit similar to the outfit worn by the Material Girl for the promo of their collaborative 2003 track, while Heather Morris, who plays Glee member Brittany, took Spears’ part in the re-imagining.

Madonna sued over ‘Material Girl’

A clothing company is taking legal action against Madonna, claiming the material girl has ripped off the “Material Girl” trademark.

L.A. Triumph, Inc. claims in a new lawsuit it’s been marketing “Material Girl” clothing since 1997, selling millions of bucks worth of threads under its trademark.

According to the documents, obtained by TMZ, Madonna, aka Madonna Louise Veronica Ciccone, has jacked the name “Material Girl” for her junior clothing line Material Girl Brand — which launched this year.

L.A. Triumph wants a declaration from a federal judge that Madonna’s use of “Material Girl” creates “deception” in the marketplace.

In addition to the declaration, L.A. Triumph wants the judge to order Madonna and her company to turn over all of the profits they’ve made from their clothing line.
