The Queen of Pop, 51, will also meet with the natural father of adopted son David on next week’s trip.
Madge is planning a lunch where the four-year-olds “can proudly show off their dance skills and meet their relatives”, a pal revealed.
She jets off to Africa next Monday with her other kids Lourdes, 14, and Rocco, ten.
The source added: “She promised to take them back to their homeland. She sees it as vital they understand their roots.
“Mercy’s meeting with her family will be particularly emotional as it’s the first time she’s seen them since last summer.”

Madonna debuts “Material Girl”

Posted by Sylar On Friday, March 26, 2010 9 comments

400_madonna_100325_etonline Madonna debuts a new, fast-fashion junior collection exclusively at Macy's this August called "Material Girl," and the Material Mom tells ET that her daughter Lourdes serves as her muse for the collection!
"I've used fashion to make statements through my work all my life and now I have a 13-year-old daughter who's obsessed with fashion, so it seems like the natural progression of my life," she says. "If you're a Material Girl, you're a girl with a sense of humor."
The Material Girl collection consists of edgy apparel, footwear, handbags and jewelry, all inspired by music and much of Madonna's early fashions, with plenty of studs, layering and lace -- and even a bustier.
"I trust [Lourdes] because she has great style," Madonna tells ET, adding that her daughter makes most of the decisions about the collection. "We rarely disagree when it comes to clothes, I have to say. That's why most of my closet is being raided on a regular basis."

Ewan McGregor not in Madonna movie

Posted by Sylar On Wednesday, March 24, 2010 0 comments

Ewan McGregor's representative has shot down reports the Scottish actor is set to play the lead in Madonna’s new movie about late British royal King Edward VIII.

The Material Girl is stepping behind the camera to direct a historical drama based on the former King, who abdicated in 1936 so he could marry twice-divorced American socialite Wallis Simpson.

The Trainspotting star was reported to have signed up to play the lead in the upcoming movie.

But now a spokesperson for the actor has dismissed the claims, telling Gossip Cop that McGregor is "not doing" the film.

Posted by Sylar On Tuesday, March 23, 2010 14 comments

derulo Jason Derulo, who is no stranger now to storming the charts and working with powerhouse pop divas, is about to work with another legendary artist who is certainly familiar with the Top 10.

The rising R&B star, 21, just saw his first two singles off of his self-titled debut album hit the Billboard charts, has toured with fan Lady Gaga and this week nabbed the top spot in the Us Weekly Buzzometer. So what's next? He's on his way into the studio to work with Madonna! Derulo told our own Zach Johnson all about it plus other future plans (including his love life!) when he gave Us a ring the other day. Read on for more from Jason!

Us: Are there any other artists you'd like to tour with or maybe collaborate with musically?

JD: Yeah. I'm about to work with Madonna, and I’ve been watching her for years. I would love to be a part of another reinvention. She’s been able to reinvent herself time and time again. I’ll probably be part of that.

More about the Sticky and Sweet Blu Ray editions

Posted by Sylar On Monday, March 22, 2010 12 comments

With the commercial release of the Sticky & Sweet Tour being very close now, fans are still unsure if they will get a "live music cd" also in their Blu Ray edition of the concert, as listings on various online stores are inconsistent with each other.

The MadonnaTribe team has investigated a bit on the matter and we were finally confirmed that a music cd will also be available in the Blu Ray edition, but... in Europe only!.

America will get the cd with the dvd but will only get the Blu Ray disc in the Blu Ray package, while Europe will get a "live music cd" with both the DVD and Blu Ray editions of the Sticky & Sweet tour.

Jonas Akerlund on Madonna/Gaga comparisons

Posted by Sylar On Wednesday, March 17, 2010 24 comments

“I really don’t like to compare the artists that I work with, because they are all so unique and so different,” he told MTV News about the Gaga/Madonna similarities. “One thing for sure is that Gaga is a true artist. She’s really a huge talent, and she’s such a hard worker. That makes me think of Madonna, because Madonna is always such a hard worker, more than anybody else.”

Like Madonna, Gaga also has a unique vision. “She’s always very creative,” he said of Madge. “She always goes back to creativity. She has so much politics around and all these stupid rumors and gossip and all that, and some artists manage to stay above that. So in that sense, I’m fine with comparing [Gaga and Madonna], but then again, they’re so different.”

Akerlund said he and Gaga have a long road ahead of them before they can have the relationship he has with the Queen of Pop. “I also have 12 years with Madonna and I have two videos with Gaga; it’s the future to tell, but I think that Gaga has all the potential and all the tools and all the brain to take her creativity as far she wants to,” he said. “But she’s great.

“Madonna was early to be one of those artists who thought more about the concept then just focusing on the one thing,” he continued. “And Gaga — that comes naturally for her. She sees her character and her career, and I’m happy to be part of it … but it’s not me; it’s her. Everything comes from her.”

Sia talks about Madonna

Posted by Sylar On Wednesday, March 17, 2010 0 comments

I understand you did a Madonna cover….
Yes, “Oh Father.” I personalized the words to make sense to me.

sia (1)Have you met Madonna before?
Never. But I grew up wearing fingerless gloves because of her. Then one day about three years ago she put one of my songs, a remix of “Breathe Me,” on her iTunes playlist. She said it was a great song to work out to. Then I got excited, because someone who was staying at my house was working for this jeans company and Madonna had asked for a bunch of their jeans. This girl was packaging the jeans at my house, so I slipped a note in one of the boxes for Madonna and said, “Hi, this is Sia. You put my song on your iTunes playlist and I wanted to say thanks. I love you.” And that’s the extent of our relationship.

Did she find the note?
I doubt it. But if she tried on the jeans I’ve come pretty close to her bum! [Laughs]

Madonna + Dolce & Gabbana = MDG, a brand is born!

Posted by Sylar On Monday, March 15, 2010 4 comments

MDG_Gallery_02Madonna isn't just a friend, muse and model to Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana; with new eyewear brand MDG she has become a fellow designer, ready to wow us with shades fit for a film noir screen siren, of which we exclusively reveal a few models.

The Internet has been buzzing with rumours of the various design projects taken on by Madonna herself and details on what is perhaps the most exciting line yet were officially announced by WWD earlier today.

Madonna caught in the act with a beautiful stranger - a familiar stranger who is none other than our dearest Tyson Ballou. The paparazzo for the occasion was Steven Klein no less, and lending him a hand was legendary art director Fabien Baron.

Reading the words of happy Stefano Gabbana and Domenico Dolce one definitely understands why this was a match made in accessories heaven: “Designing an eyewear line with Madonna was a new experience for us. The oversized and wraparound designs are sexy and very feminine, like our clothes. Madonna’s creative contribution and unique point of view were key, even in designing the MDG logo.”

Not just another celebrity collaboration - MDG is a whole new brand with Madonna, Domenico and Stefano as colleagues on the design team. Just imagine a day in *that* office...

Madonna designs eyewear for Dolce & Gabbana

Posted by Sylar On Monday, March 15, 2010 0 comments

Fresh from signing a deal to create her own range of clothing, Madonna has teamed up with old friends Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana to design a collection of sunglasses for the Italian label. The sunglasses, which bear the letter M on the arm, mark the first co-branded collaboration that the design duo has ever undertaken.

“We’re so excited,” Gabbana told WWD. “This further strengthens our relationship with Madonna, and it was a very constructive experience for us. She is very exacting and a professional who seeks perfection in everything she does, and this was no exception.”

The collection, which will be produced and distribute by Luxottica, Dolce & Gabbana’s eyewear licensee, will go on sale this May retailing from €180 to €210 at Dolce & Gabbana stores worldwide and at the Sunglass Hut.

Madonna, who fronts this season’s Dolce & Gabbana campaign, also stars in the advertising images for the sunglasses line. They were also shot by Steven Klein, inspired by “film noir”, and will be released in May to coincide with the launch.

Steve Madden close to Madonna Deal

Posted by Sylar On Friday, March 12, 2010 0 comments

Steven Madden Ltd. is about to tie up another celebrity deal.

Multiple sources told Footwear News last week the company is teaming up with Iconix Brand Group Inc. and Macy’s Inc. to produce the shoes for Madonna’s new Material Girl juniors’ line, set to launch exclusively at Macy’s in August.

Last week, the superstar and Iconix announced the formation of a joint venture called MG Icon LLC. A number of projects are expected to bow as part of the partnership, with the Material Girl line hitting first.

“Footwear and accessories are going to be an essential part of the Material Girl collection,” said Iconix CEO Neil Cole. “Footwear is an easy way for juniors to change their look, and we are going to offer them a wide array of trend-right items that will fit into their style.”

Madonna offers relationship tips on ‘Marriage Ref’

Posted by Sylar On Friday, March 12, 2010 0 comments

Madonna doesn’t think a wife should withhold sex from a sloppy husband.

But she believes a wife should dispose of her late husband’s prosthetic leg to spare the feelings of the wife’s current mate.

This was some of Madonna’s relationship advice on NBC’s “The Marriage Ref,” where she joined actor-comedians Larry David and Ricky Gervais as a guest panelist on Thursday’s edition.

The show invites its panel of “experts” to help analyze real-life disputes between married couples, mostly for laughs. Host Tom Papa, aka The Marriage Ref, makes the final call.

In one case, Mindy Goldman was offering sexual favors to Alan, her husband of 28 years, if he would clean up their messy basement.

A good idea? “I think it’s weird that she wants him to be clean so that they can be dirty,” cracked Madonna.

Gervais wondered, “Could they combine the sex with the housework?”

Then Susan and David Harper, married for three years, were seen in their house squabbling over possessions left over from their past relationships. Susan wanted her husband to get rid of the sofa where David and his ex-wife might have had hanky-panky, while David complained about Susan hanging on to the ashes and prosthetic leg of Don, her late husband.

Madonna’s swift solution: “He gets rid of the couch, she gets rid of the leg.”

“This is easily the most uncomfortable hour I’ve ever spent in my life,” sighed Larry David in the midst of the debate.

“Why?” Madonna retorted. “Because you’re sitting next to a woman who’s standing up to you?”

“The Marriage Ref,” which premiered last week, has Jerry Seinfeld as a creator and producer.

Madonna to Launch Lourdes-Inspired Juniors’ Line at Macy’s

Posted by Sylar On Wednesday, March 10, 2010 1 comments

Madonna just signed a giant fashion deal that will enable her to have hands in multiple existing brands as well as start new ones. Along with her manager, Guy Oseary, she forms MG Icon with brand-management firm Iconix, which owns labels like Candie's and Rampage along with stakes in other labels, such as Ed Hardy. Madonna and Guy (the "G" in "MG Icon," which surprisingly doesn't stand for "Material Girl Icon") will own a 50 percent stake in the company while Iconix owns the other half.

This new deal should enable Madonna, whose control-freak tendencies are said to have gotten in the way of fashion and beauty deals in the past, to finally get a fragrance off the ground. She could also endorse labels like Danskin and always-scary Jersey Shore favorite Ed Hardy. But this doesn't just mean she'll wear the stuff: Control freak that she is, "she'd probably be involved in design, photo shoots, everything," says the CEO of Iconix.

But before she can straddle "the Situation" in a music video (Jesus who?), she's rolling out a juniors' lifestyle collection for Macy's, inspired by her 13-year-old daughter Lourdes. The line will start with apparel, footwear, handbags, and jewelry ranging in price from $12 to $40 and will hit stores in time for back-to-school.

Lourdes is heavily involved in the line, and goes to design meetings with Macy's executives, such as chief merchandising officer Jeff Gennette. "Lourdes has an incredible sense of style," he told WWD. No details on what the line will actually look like have been provided. But we're imagining something along the lines of a cross between Rampage, Ed Hardy, Topshop, and Madonna's signature bustiers.

Soho House held a preview party Thursday night in West Hollywood, receiving an embarrassment of bold names at its newest venue.
The members-only club, which has outposts already in London and New York, partnered with Grey Goose to open its doors to Madonna, Elton John, Quentin Tarantino, Natalie Portman, Harvey Weinstein, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony, Kellan Lutz, Rachel Zoe, Josh Hartnett, and Clive Owen.
The stars gathered in the penthouse of the exclusive Sunset Boulevard property to celebrate Sunday's big show and raise awareness for RADD, aka "the entertainment industry's voice for road safety." The select, wall-to-wall crowd snacked on steak tartare and Champagne in the redesigned space that the club had rented for a week of sneak-peek Oscars parties in 2008.
From the Ministry of Gossip at the LA Times.

And in more Oscar related news, Madonna, her manager Guy Oseary and Demi Moore will stick to what has become a tradition now and will have their after-party going around 11 p.m. in a tent attached to Guy's Hollywood Hills home on Sunday, Variety.com reports.

Madonna’s new single will be out very soon

Posted by Sylar On Thursday, March 04, 2010 24 comments

Here’s an excerpt from the article that can be found at MSN Australia

Internet rumours have him working with everyone from Madonna to Rihanna - and most of it is correct.

Madonna?

"That's done, the single will be out very soon and it's amazing, I'm very happy," he (David Guetta) said.

Update:

It seems that Guetta was actually referring to a long-before-released single "Revolver":

"The Madonna song is really, really, really good - it's her and Lil Wayne. She's great, totally not what I was expecting. I was totally seduced."

So sorry, it was a false alarm. :)
