You would find weird describing a new Madonna record as a "comeback album", unless you're Parisian hip hop and electro producer DJ Mehdi.
"I can’t wait to see N*Sync and the Backstreet Boys getting back together. Oh, and A-Trak producing Madonna’s comeback album," Mehdi told Dummy magazine's Adam Saville who asked him what he was excited about music-wise for the new decade.
DJ Mehdi is the second French producer rumoured to be involved in Madonna's first music release under the Live Nation contract. The 32 year old joins David Guetta who, as reported one month ago, told Digital Spy:
"I would love to work with Madonna. It will probably happen very soon actually. It's all in the early stages and I'm not allowed to speak about it yet."

Friends of Madonna's adopted daughter sang carols at their orphanage... wearing Crocs sent as Xmas gifts by the star.
The footwear was in a truckload of presents from little Mercy, four, to the children she grew up with at the Kondanani orphanage in Malawi, delivered by an African Santa Claus.
Madonna, 51, also threw a party with fizzy drinks, hamburgers and chocolate at the orphanage and sent a Christmas card. The gifts were handed to more than 80 children with tags reading "Love from Mercy". Orphan Chitsanzo, six, said: "I am very happy my friend Mercy bought us shoes, toys, chocolates and cakes. They are very beautiful." Her friend Happiness, four, added: "I'm so happy I have received Christmas gifts. I have my own toys now."
Carers said it was the most presents the children had ever received.
Mercy moved to London in June to live with Madonna's other children - Lourdes, 13, Rocco, nine, and adopted Malawian David Banda.

The flash of cameras filled Madame Tussauds Hong Kong today, as the attraction unveiled über-celebrity Madonna’s wax likeness, as well as hosting the “So You Think You Can Dance…Like Madonna?” competition, bringing an all-new interactive dance experience to guests just in time for the Christmas season.
During the event, the finalists got their groove on and went head to head live, before the attraction unveiled the superstar’s all-new look with the help of William Chan, one of the hottest local dance icons. The unveiling also marked the release of Madonna’s all-new greatest hits album “Celebration”, earlier in 2009.
“Madonna is undoubtedly the Queen of Pop, known for her high-energy dancing and singing that has rocked audiences and venues around the world. With the Christmas season fast approaching, our new interactive experience is set to immerse guests in excitement at Madame Tussauds Hong Kong like never before and help them celebrate the holidays with some unbelievable dancing fun,” said Bret Pidgeon, General Manager of Madame Tussauds Hong Kong and Shanghai.
“In addition to posing with Madonna in her all-new costume inspired by her Sticky and Sweet Tour 2009, guests can put on a variety of props such as dazzling top hats, colourful wigs or flashy canes to transform into superstars themselves.”
Madonna’s wax figure will be on display in the Music Icon section, on her very own decked out stage. Dressed in a black ruffled jacket and frilly skirt, along with matching coloured gloves, boots and cane, Madonna’s wax counterpart is frozen in one of the singer’s signature poses with a microphone in one hand. Moving stage lights and a wall of multi-coloured lights will make guests feel as if they are centre stage with Madonna in front of thousands of adoring fans.
During the unveiling, judges also chose the winner of the “So You Think You Can Dance…Like Madonna?” competition, based on choreography, originality, relevance to Madonna, synchronisation, technique and costume. Sponsors included The Venetian® Macao-Resort-Hotel, Cirque du Soleil, Crowne Plaza Hong Kong Causeway Bay, and Warner Music. The winner received a 2-day 1-night Gold ZAIA Package from The Venetian® Macao-Resort-Hotel.

Madonna was declared the “most famous celebrity of the decade”, in a column inch countdown of British national newspapers.
Robbie Williams, who has enjoyed comeback success this year, was the most written-about male celeb of the past 10 years.
Michael Jackson, whose death in June – just before he was due to embark on a marathon string of London concerts – sent shockwaves around the world, was the best-documented star of 2009 in the survey.
Man of the moment and Britain’s Got Talent and X Factor supremo Simon Cowell was in second place in the survey which covered 2009 up to December 7.
Others catapulted into the limelight thanks to Cowell’s talent shows include Susan Boyle, who researchers found had 3,170 pieces written about her in 2009, and twins John and Edward Grimes, collectively known as Jedward, who attracted 1,112 articles due to their X Factor success.
Cheryl Cole’s national newspaper popularity increased almost three-fold following her role as a judge in The X Factor, according to the research.
In 2007, the Girls Aloud singer had 884 articles written about her, but this number increased to 2,241 in 2008 and a further 3,745 reports appeared this year, which means that she is the fourth most written about celebrity of 2009.
With a high profile marriage and divorce, adoption bids and one of the most successful careers around, Madonna has accrued 45,633 mentions over the decade.
This was around 17,000 more news articles than her nearest rival Williams.
The study was commissioned by online UK TV channel Liv, which features style and celebrity programming.

Any truth to the rumours about working with Madonna again?
There is always speculation about that and people would like it. You know, I send her tracks and sometimes she’s keen … I sent her a track when she was doing the best of and she was very keen and then she realised, and it ticked me off a bit actually, that Finley Quaye had done a version of it previously and she didn’t really want anything that had been done before so I missed my chance. Would I do another project with her? I’d do it but I don’t miss the stress of it. She doesn’t half push the stress button.
When you’re DJing do you have a song you always play?
I always want to play Music by Madonna. It’s almost like a get out of jail free card.

An 18-year long friendship wasn’t enough to dissipate the fear that Stefano Gabbana and Domenico Dolce nurtured toward Madonna when it came to doing something “more business-y” together.
“We were always afraid it would ruin our relationship,” contended Gabbana.
Not anymore. As part of a flurry of activity between the designers and pop icon, including the filming of the “Celebration” video inside Metropol, the designers’ Milanese runway venue, Madonna agreed to appear in the Dolce & Gabbana spring campaign.
Steven Klein snapped the eight black-and-white, horizontal pictures in a former lay convent in Uptown Manhattan. They will appear in groups of two or three to better display the reportage effect. A budget for the campaign, which breaks in February fashion titles, wasn’t available, though Gabbana described the investment as a “serious one.”
The shoot mirrors the mood of the designers’ sexy spring show, brimming with heritage Dolce & Gabbana staples and romantic accoutrements. “The collection is very Italian, very Sicilian,” said Gabbana. “It’s a return to our roots with a modern angle, so we asked Madonna to interpret it in a different and human way. We believe that people are ready for a new message.”
That message has Madonna playing a housewife, albeit a sensual one, carrying out her daily chores. Madonna appears holding a broomstick, washing dishes in a bubble-filled sink, eating spaghetti with her fingers and chopping vegetables, surrounded by lace curtains and tablecloths, dishcloths and old wooden furniture.
For the campaign, Madonna chose a number of looks, including crocheted tops and dresses, floral skirts and leopard spots, which she mismatched to her taste.
During a brainstorming session before the shoot (Gabbana marveled at how well versed Madonna is on old Italian movies), they all agreed on Luchino Visconti’s film “Bellissima” as an inspiration. Released in 1951, the neorealist film stars Anna Magnani and Walter Chiari.
In one shot, Madonna even appears as a latter-day Magnani, gazing off-camera with tear-smoldered cheeks. “She really cried, she really dipped into the part and took it very seriously,” gushed Gabbana.

The Rolling Stones were the most successful live band of the decade as the rockers’ 264 concerts over the past 10 years grossed over $869 million, good enough for Number One atop Billboard’s Top Touring Acts of the 2000s list. Only three artists surpassed the $800 million mark for the decade and are now able to brag to friends that they grossed more than most countries’ yearly gross national product: the Stones, U2 with $844 million and Madonna, who was both the top-grossing female and solo artist, with $802 million.
While the Rolling Stones took the decade’s crown, U2 were easily the most in-demand live act as all 288 shows the band performed this decade were sold out, a stat no other artist this decade can claim. With U2 set for the second leg of their 360 Tour in 2010, it’s only a matter of time before they surpass $1 billion for the past 11 years. Of the 25 acts on Billboard’s list, the Dave Matthews Band performed in front of the most fans, selling over 11 million tickets over the course of 547 shows, good for $505 million and seventh on the list. Coming in at Number Four was Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band with a hearty $688 million from 403 shows.
The Police and Paul McCartney needed the least amount of shows to get onto the Billboard list: The reunited Sychronicity band played only 144 shows but managed to place 11th with $362 million, while Paul McCartney needed only 106 shows to gross $239 million. Other notables on the list include Billy Joel at 10, the Eagles at 12, Metallica at 19 and Britney Spears at 21.

Exclusive in this week’s Italian edition of Vanity Fair is the worldwide preview of Dolce & Gabbana’s new spring/summer 2010 campaign featuring pop icon Madonna.
Madonna’s private life is seldom out of the papers but this new Dolce & Gabbana campaign is unlike anything you have seen before. Exit the paparazzo, these shots by Steven Klein reveal much more than a grainy stolen picture, they showcase an intimate, real aspect to the ultimate icon’s life.
In keeping with Dolce & Gabbana’s Spring/Summer 2010 collection’s emphasis on Mediterranean heritage and classic Italian sensuality, the mood isn’t unlike a film from the days of Italian Neorealism. Madonna herself recalls the strong, raw sensuality of the iconic actress Anna Magnani – showcasing when soft sensuality meets bold authenticity.
When asked as to whether Madonna knows how to wash dishes, Stefano Gabbana replies “Certainly…she’s a very practical woman…” And does she actually eat spaghetti despite her most enviable figure? “Of course, says Stefano, and she can allow herself to with all the exercise she does!”
