The time has come...
This is the 1000th post on this blog. I want to thank to all readers of MadgeTribe for helping me and convincing me not to give up. You are the best!
To celebrate this occasion, I decided to upload something special for you (well at least for some of you ;D) - video of Madonna performing at Brixton Academy in 2000. File is very big - 903 MB, but I think it's worth downloading.

Today a reader of MadgeTribe, Leo, sent me a remix of all songs from COADF that he made. The remix is really good, I especially like parts with 'Get Together' and 'Isaac'.

This is only the first step of the process where entries are submitted and then screened for eligibility and category placement - it doesn't mean The Confessions Tour is nominated then, it just means it's been submitted for nomination as part of a list that currently includes 158 films.
The Best Long Form Music Video is Category #110 at the Grammy Awards - and is meant for video album packages consisting of more than one song or track.
The Award is presented to the Artist and to the Video Director/Producer of at least 51% of the total playing time.
The 50th Grammy Awards - a milestone for the Grammys and the Recording Academy - will take place on February 10, 2008 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
Nominations will be announced on December 6, 2007.

If you hadn't have the chance to see how the Official Calendar looks like in the US format for 2008, here is a shot of the gorgeous cover - where the portrait by Steven Klein from the Brillia Mare Ariake sessions looks particularly stunning without being cropped on the sides as in the European pressing. The current issue of UK industry magazine Music Week reports that Madonna's final release for Warner Bros will be a greatest hits set spanning her entire 25 year history with Warner Music Group.
The album is expected to form a key part of the label's fourth-quarter release schedule next year and will follow the new studio album due in Spring.
The magazine reports that sales projections are high, given that The Immaculate Collection sold 30m worldwide.
This week's issue also features an in depth analysis of the finances behind the deal, including information that Madonna is still signed to Warner/Chappell for publishing rights. The article reveals that Live Nation are expecting to wait "as long as three years" before seeing a studio album under the deal.
The film director said the two-year-old had become "part of the family" and put paid to rumours that the upheaval caused by bringing a child into their family had put a strain on their marriage.
Ritchie, 39, said today: "We haven't talked about the adoption for ages - he's part of us.
"It was only in the first month when the adoption was going through. Since then we have all been getting on with our lives and it hasn't been mentioned. That's par for the course. He's part of the family."
Madonna has two other children, Lourdes, 10, and her and Ritchie's son, Rocco, seven.
Both are said to have fully accepted David and Lourdes has even learned to speak to him in his native language, Chichewa.
The couple are set to appear before Malawi's high court next month for a review of their 18-month temporary adoption order of David.
They expect to learn that they have won the right to formally adopt him as Malawi's chief social welfare officer Simon Chisale has written a glowing report after spending three days with the family at their Marylebone home.
But while Ritchie, whose next film RocknRolla is due out next year, insisted he and Madonna, 49, were very happily married, he did admit to not particularly liking his wife's pop hits.
He added: "To be honest, I'm not really into pop music. That's just not my scene - I'm more into Irish folk songs.
"I'm sorry if everyone is shocked I'm not into her music."
From what we hear, the 2008 Tour project is alive and kicking - the time span they are working on at the moment to set tentative dates and arrange deals with the venues is basically the one of a Summer tour.
But - as the aim is to bring the tour to as many countries as possible - they are working on a scheme which includes a reduced number of concerts to take place in a single city, focusing on those who offer the best performance from a production/cost/ticketing point of view, and obviously the word "stadiums" comes to mind.
Also, there is a chance that we'll have to deal with itineraries significantly different from the ones of Madonna's two most recent tours - meaning that there's a chance that the tour will start in Europe this time around and not in California like Reinvention and Confessions did.
From what we hear plans to celebrate Madonna's 50 year birthday with a special event are still going on, although it is not sure if the much talked about Central Park concert in New York City will happen.
It also seems that the "birthday concert" is being taken into consideration for TV broadcasting and DVD recording this time again, like it happened with the Confessions Tour.
Plans are still yet to be final so we have to take all of the above with a grain of salt as things can change significantly in the next months, but the thing that excites us the most is to learn that - as of today - the tour celebrating Madonna's 25 Years in music business is a go!

* It has a working title of Connextion - although this will be changed for release
* It currently contains 12 tracks
* The Beat Goes On track that was leaked a few months ago actually is the finished product for the album
* Another song is a ballad, much like the tone of Promise To Try but is more about a rebirth than death
* There is another song with a strong techno 'thump' with just Madonna singing, no other musical sound and it works pretty well, almost haunting and stays with you

British actor Richard E Grant stars as one of them. He said: "I play a poet, a blind writer who's based on her dance teacher."
Grant also said Madonna as a director is "very exacting, very clear about absolutely everything, full control, as you would expect. She's the one."
It's been rumoured that Filth and Wisdom will be showcased at the Sundance Film Festival early next year.

Bedtime Stories is the sixth studio album by pop singer Madonna, released on October 25, 1994 by Maverick Records. The album has sold an estimated 8 million copies. In 1995 it was nominated for a Grammy Award in the Best Pop Vocal Album category.
The album began as a collaboration with Shep Pettibone, and was to have been The album began as a collaboration with Shep Pettibone, and was to have been stylistically similar to Erotica. However, due to Madonna's wish to soften her public image, as well as her admiration for Joi's Pendulum Vibe album (which contained tracks produced by Dallas Austin), she decided to change to a more R&B sound. She did thank Pettibone in the album sleeve notes for accepting her decision to change the album's direction. This would be the last time she would collaborate with Pettibone.

Danja recently scored high with Britney's new single 'Gimme More' and he's currently producing several other artists too, meaning that the Timbaland-Danja sound is going to be prominent in 2008 as well.
The video is directed by Nick Spanos and portraits Donna in her studio and in the familiar settings of the U.S. National Park near her home. Donna's band and daughter also appear in it.
For those, who don't know who Donna is: she is Madonna's longtime backing singer.
The superstar, 49, will appear before the high court in Malawi next month for a review of her temporary adoption order.
And it is expected the hearing – originally not due to take place until April – will grant her full custody of two-year-old David Banda. The boy has been living with her, husband GUY RITCHIE and their two children in London for a year.

But Major John Ritchie is now pleased because Guy recently told him he is planning to move out to New York to be with her, where she is editing a documentary about the AIDS victims and orphans of Malawi.
At tot David Banda's second birthday bash last weekend, John told a friend: "It's the first time Guy has seen her in a while.
Madonna, Lola, Rocco and David have been out in the States and Guy has been in London."

Sex is the title of a highly-designed coffee table book written by Madonna with photographs by Steven Meisel Studio and film frames shot by Fabien Baron, released October 21, 1992 by Warner Books. The book was released by Madonna as an accompaniment to her fifth studio album Erotica, which was released a day earlier (October 20, 1992).
Sex sold 150,000 copies on the day of its release in the USA alone. Three days later all 1.5 million copies of the first edition were sold out worldwide, making Sex the most successful coffee table book ever released. The bookstore chain Waldenbooks sold 22,000 copies of the book on the day of its release, and commented to MTV that they had never once seen a book sell out so quickly.
This is what Annie Lennox posted on her own blog about it yesterday:
"While I was in LA I managed to make a new version of Sing which is different from the album track... and will be made available (hopefully) next month.
It's exactly what I wanted Sing to be."
Annie is also performing Sing herself at concerts on her US tour which is taking place right now.

Fresh from stealing Madonna from Warner Music Group, concert promoter Live Nation is in advanced talks to acquire the Material Girl’s merchandising company, Signatures Network, The Post has learned.
A deal for Signatures Network, which holds the rights to license and market more than 125 artists including U2, Kanye West and Bruce Springsteen, is expected to be announced in the next two weeks, according to four sources close to the situation.
Live Nation is paying around $50 million for Signatures Network, these sources said, with one of them adding that the merchandising company generates about $120 million in annual revenue but operates with very small profit margins.
A spokesman for Live Nation declined to comment. Signatures Network CEO Dell Furano did not return a call for comment.
Live Nation has been quietly gobbling up ancillary businesses related to the concert industry as a way to extend its reach and diversify its revenue stream.
Earlier this year the company acquired the remaining stake in high-end concert T-shirt merchandiser Trunk it didn’t already own.
Last month it acquired the 50 percent portion of UltraStar it did not own. UltraStar runs the official artist Web sites for Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Police and others.
Live Nation also recently bought fan club ticketing service Musictoday and merchandising company Ant Hill Trading.
Signatures Network is bigger than all of those assets combined, however, with sources saying that the $50 million Live Nation is shelling out for the company is twice what it paid for the others.
Though it has focused solely on tour merchandising in the past, sources said Signatures Network was now looking to strike all-encompassing rights deals that would also include things like fragrances and accessories in addition to tour-related merchandise.

Erotica is a concept album about sexuality and relationships. Each track explores a different facet of sexuality, usually involving sexual relationships. Lyrically, the album does not tie sex and sexual relationships with the traditional ideals of romance. A dance record by all accounts, the album showcases hip hop and jazz-affected club production from co-producers Shep Pettibone and André Betts.
The album is Madonna's first album to bear a "Parental Advisory" label (the only other albums to do so being 2003's American Life and 2007's The Confessions Tour). A separate "clean" version was released without the sexually explicit song "Did You Do It?"
Original tracklisting:
1 "Erotica" [Single]
2 "Waiting"
3 "Rain" [Single]
4 "Deeper and Deeper" [Single]
5 "Thief of Hearts"
6 "Bad Girl" [Single]
7 "Why's It So Hard"
8 "Where Life Begins"
9 "In This Life"
10 "Words"
11 "Bye Bye Baby" [Single]
12 "Secret Garden"
13 "Goodbye to Innocence"
14 "Fever" [Single]
* "Did you Do it"
Reviews of Erotica that concentrated only on the musical aspect of the album were mostly positive; Rolling Stone hailed the album as one of Madonna's best. In hindsight, both fans and critics have warmed to the album over the years, with some even considering it to be among her best work.

An article from Entertainment Weekly/Hollywood Insider by Shirley Halperin:
No doubt, losing Madonna to Live Nation in what’s quickly become regarded as a historic deal (worth a reported $120 million), was a huge blow to Warner Bros. Records, her home for the last 25 years. However, while the financial terms were, for the most part, unmatchable, don’t think the label brass is necessarily quaking in the aftershock. For one thing, they had a long time to contemplate the possibility. A source tells Hollywood Insider that negotiations went back and forth for almost six months, during which Live Nation was neither the only bidder, nor the highest. Still, Warners ’’knew it was kind of leading to that," says the source. When the news finally broke internally, Warners’ staffers had just commenced three days of corporate meetings in their Burbank headquarters. Surprisingly, the vibe was optimistic. "They stopped for one second, and kept going," says an insider who was present. "It was actually sort of comforting because business went on — talking about new talent, all these releases coming out, focusing on the 360 deals... It was like, yes, Madonna was, and will be for a while longer, a hugely important artist for the company, but she’s not the only artist."
Meanwhile, on a conference call with Wall Street analysts yesterday, Live Nation CEO Mike Rapino revealed that it would be at least two years — and more realistically, three years — before they release Madonna’s first studio album, and a tour is likely "within the next 24 months."
On Warners’ end, publicist Liz Rosenberg says that the 49 year-old icon’s next record (which may feature songs from recent studio sessions with Timbaland and Justin Timberlake) could drop in March 2008, with yet another greatest hits package slated for later next year or early 2009. Rosenberg adds: "We intend to work our asses off to make them both huge successes."

This gossip and commentary were published today in music industry publication HitsDailyDouble in the "Rumor Mill" section:
MADONNA WANNABE GONE: Insiders say Madonna was furious with Tom Whalley and Edgar Bronfman Jr. for dropping the ball on her last album, 2005's Confessions on a Dance Floor, especially in the U.S., where she sold less than 20% of her worldwide total of 8 million-plus. The acrimonious parting of the ways between WMG and her Maverick label, when they failed to show her any love, exacerbated her displeasure with the pair. That made for a sad final chapter to Madonna’s quarter-century run at WB—although her pain was undoubtedly eased by that $120 million she’s getting from Michael Rapino’s Live Nation in a deal negotiated by her attorney, Allen Grubman. On one level, adding record rights to the deal was a symbolic slap in the face to Whalley and Bronfman, but the move has bottom-line implications as well, considering the sizable worldwide numbers Madonna continues to tally. The loss of those sales constitutes a major blow to WMG, and it comes at a particularly inopportune time. (10/18p)
And then they added commentary on Edgar's comments on losing Madonna:
WHAT JUNIOR SAID: "We remain committed to maintaining financial discipline. We simply will not enter into agreements with artists that fail this test—whether or not the artists are well-known, and regardless of media reaction." —Edgar Bronfman Jr., rationalizing the loss of Madonna in an internal memo, reprinted Wednesday in the N.Y. Post. (10/18a)
WHAT JUNIOR MEANT: “We have no cash to make a deal of this magnitude, we have no expertise to execute this type of deal even if we could raise the cash, we know nothing about touring or branding and she would be crazy to take our stock cuz I have no clue about how to fix my company and this mess that I have gotten it into. The only 360 deals we can make are with new and developing acts that we can leverage our way into by threatening not to work their records upon release. Now, would anyone be interested in looking at my family photo album?” (10/18a)

From an article title "10 Questions for Jennifer Lopez'', after being asked about how much she was influenced by her husband Marc Anthony music, Jennifer Lopez has been asked about her other big music influences. Here's her reply:
"I love a good lyricist--always have. The thing that inspired me most was the different performers, like Tina Turner, James Brown, Michael Jackson, Madonna, even Janet Jackson. I always loved the idea of mixing music and dance."

An excerpt from a FOX News article by Roger Freidman:
As for Madonna, I have to say I admire the spin going on at Warner Music Group now that the Material Girl is leaving them for a $120 million payday at Live Nation.
WMG, barely in existence, is crowing that they lose nothing by bidding adieu to Madonna. How totally wrong they are. Madonna was very important to them even in a figurative sense. In a real sense, Madonna could easily still have a monster hit.
If she’s smart, Madonna will save her best stuff for her first Live Nation release, and give WMG outtakes and miscellany to fulfill her contract with them. They don’t deserve a new album of material.
My guess is Madonna is not the last artist who will exit WMG, but there aren’t so many left: just Eric Clapton, Faith Hill and Linkin Park. They are all left over from the old Warner Music.

It is interesting to notice that Cohl talked about a minimum of three studio albums, and mentioned four tours to possibly take place in the 10 years of partnership with Madonna.
There was a lot of energy, optimism and determination in the words of Cohl as well as in those of Live Nation President and CEO Micheal Rapino and in the ones of Arthur Fogel, who has produced the artist's last three worldwide tours for Live Nation's Global Music Division and Global Touring,
Fogel also said that Madonna's tour are getting better and better and bigger and bigger, proving that the Madonna franchise is stronger than ever.
Answering questions at the conference, Rapino and Fogel revealed that Madonna's first album with Artist Nation is expected in approximately two years - perhaps as long as three - while the first tour is likely to happen in the next 24 months, but looking at Madonna's previous tourin pattern, you'll also see that she toured briefly after the release of a new album.
